Hi,
I belong to a large company which still has IE11 deployed on all desktops (Edge or Chrome not available). We use it to launch embbeded Power BI reports using the API (REST and Javascript) from a JEE application. Unfortunatly, since few days, the called report does not appear anymore in the web page. This is clearly linked to the end of support for IE11. When calling interactively a report on the portal using IE11 whe have now a popup that appears and we can go through after clicking a confirmation button and get the report in the end. This is obviously not possible in API mode.
Is there a kind of workaround to continue using API and IE11 ?
Many thanks upfront,
Ivan.
Hi @ivan_m67,
AFAIK, It is hard to do some customization with basic API definitions and usage except you are the author of the API.
In my opinion, I'd like to suggest you contact power bi dev and IE browser team to report this to get further support.
Regards,
Xiaoxin Sheng
You can get a short term reprieve by spoofing the HTTP client identifier in the API calls, but in the long run your IT department will need to relent and allow a more modern (and more secure) browser.
