Hi everyone.
We have Premium capacity on the organization that I work. My question is if it would be possible to embedded an app in an application?
The problem is that if I embedd a normal report/dashboard/etc, the user (FREE) needs to have access to it. I need to manualy add those users on the app workspace. Not cool.
But the APP has a built in functionality to be available to all organization. If I can embedded it, I could make a custom portal with all my apps, outside the powerbi service.
I tried the SharePoint approach, but users get a "permission denied" message. So embedding an app in SharePoint do not solved my problem.
How may I solve this?
Thanks
Matheus Lopes
Hi Matheus,
1. We need to grant the permissions in the Power BI Service when embedding in Sharepoint online. Please refer to service-embed-report-spo#granting-access-to-reports.
2. Please refer to embed-sample-for-customers for the details of "App owns data". It seems the right choice.
Best Regards,
Dale
Hello
I'm also exploring the possibilty of embedding Power BI apps into a Sharepoint page to create a 'portal' . Just at the scoping stage at the moment. Have you been sucessful in this once embed to Sharepoint once sharepoint embedding was enabled?
Thanks in advance
Jo.
We'd like to embed app too, but... not in sharepoint. Do you know if I can embed app URL, instead of a particular report URL ?
