Embed report fails to load intermittently with GroupNotAccessible error

We are using the powerbi-client npm package to embed PowerBI report in our site.  Everything works fine except for one report where it first loads with "Content isn't available" error but upon subsequent page reloads (a few times), it will eventually load the content, and then intermittently fails again.  Loading the same report from the powerbi.com site has no such problem.

When inspecting the Network trace from F12, we find the following often failing with HTTP 401:

https://df-msit-scus-redirect.analysis.windows.net/explore/reports/752fa92e-48a3-4ddd-83a1-cfd850fd9...

But usually followed by some successfully requests (HTTP 200) for the same call/url.

From the failing calls, the response header contains these info, especially the GroupNotAccessible error:

  • access-control-expose-headers: RequestId
  • content-length: 0
  • date: Wed, 20 Nov 2019 00:01:42 GMT
  • requestid: da4e467b-07f6-46ab-b7b5-3910b650692b
  • status: 401
  • strict-transport-security: max-age=31536000; includeSubDomains
  • x-content-type-options: nosniff
  • x-frame-options: deny
  • x-powerbi-error-info: GroupNotAccessible

Any way to fix this intermittent issue?

MS did a fix. We've been running fine for the last 10 hours or so.

Does issue persist on your side now?

It doesn't seem to repro so far this morning. Did someone apply some magic?
