Editing bookmarks in the json report files (PBIR) to specify visibility and data properties.
Hi,
Pre-warning warning - I'm sure this is totally dangerous - so let's keep going.
When saving in PBIR format, in the .Report>definition>bookmarks subfolder are the json files for each bookmark.
(Side note - they seem to clog up with useless artifacts as bookmarks are edited, which does cause unwanted behaviour, so I've found cleaning them out to only include relevant visuals fixes this unwanted behaviour.)
What I haven't found out is how to stop a slicer from updating when controlled by a bookmark that has 'data' turned on. I know... seems strange, why not just turn 'data' off - it is because doing this adds a "suppressData": true option to the bookmark and I want the bookmark to change the data for some visuals, but not for others.
So either there is a way to bypass the suppressData option (somehow I doubt it) or perhaps there is a way to add this option to an individual visual... or another method?
Here's some code for a bookmark - the highlighted visual (32885b7fcc1d89d762b5) is the one where I've removed everything from the 'objects' and 'activeProjections' hoping this might do it - however all it does is set the slicer to 'All' when it is made visible by the bookmark.
Perhaps there is a way to specify a filter to not change when the bookmark activates it?
Grateful for ideas, thanks!

Hey vfx661, this is something I just started looking at today.
Having read you post the thought crossed my mind that you could make the changes in power bi desktop, then see what the differences are in the file.
Then determine from that what you would need to modify in the json etc.
