Drive / change slicer selection based on value selected from a matrix
- Anonymous8 months ago
Hi punitpopli ,
Thanks for the additional details.. The behaviour you are trying to replicate from Qlik where a selection inside a matrix updates the slicer and filters other visuals is not supported in Power BI. Measures cannot be used as filters, and visuals cannot push their selections back into a slicer or override its value.
Because of this, clicking a product in the Cost matrix cannot drive both matrices or change the slicer selection. The closest supported alternatives are using disconnected slicers, drill-through, or separate detail pages.
If this approach does not meet your requirement, please share a small sample dataset and the expected behaviour so we can help suggest a workable Power BI design.
Please show the expected outcome based on the sample data you provided.

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Could you please let us know if the issue has been resolved? I wanted to check if you had the opportunity to review the information provided by lbendlin and GeraldGEmerick . If you still require support, please let us know, we are happy to assist you.
Thank you.
This is what we are trying to replicate the functionality (not working though)
Created a measure which will capture the selected value from Slicer and both Cost / Reconvery views and the next step am trying to get -
- The measure value applied to the matrix visual
- filter the matrix visual (cost side) for the value selected
- filter the recovery filter based on the selected value from Cost matrix
