Dataset file name change issue.

Very new to PowerBI. My previous manager has left the company and now noone oversees our PowerBI sites.  I've been doing okay, I feel, up until now..

A few people from other departments modified the filenames for two excel files on our sharepoint.. same filepath... The problem I have is I do not have Power BI Desktop. I'm not sure I need it or if there is a way to change the filenames through the site.

I did search the forum and feel I found the solution already, but can't seem to do https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Power-Query/Refresh-File-Change-folder/m-p/9641#M1668 through the site.

Thanks in advance.

You can't change the source file names in Power BI service, you need to change in Power BI Desktop. In case if those file and folders are parameterized then you can change the file name or folder name in service by changing the parameter values in Power Bi service.

Thanks

Hari
