Data connection to third Party web Application

Hi 

I am rookie Power Bi Developer. So far I have developed the dashboards using Power Bi Get data data soruces like EXCEL, and common Data bases. Recently my management asked to connect to third Party tool to create dashboards. 

Its Finance management Tool called "Finly" which is Web application used by medium level companies in our country. 

The process is like, they will enter some data and it will generate invoices using that data.

 All this data they enter will get stored somwhere at thier backed server of "Finly" . So now how to acsses the data using power BI.

One of my senior collegue told to pull the data from "Finly" using API and make copy of it in our local MYSQL Server and from MYSQL we can pull the data to power BI To make dashboards, Is this True ? Is this Possible or any other way to do it ?

Yes you can use the API to get the data from such thrid parties.
