Hi,
some of my custom visuals appear empty in PDF exports from Power BI Desktop (release Sept 2025). Used to work before, e.g. April 2025 release. Exports from Service still look good.
Does anyone have an idea what has changed in the way exports are being handled now and what needs to be done to make it work again?
Copilot gave me some hints but I'm afraid it is just halluzinating: Asynchronous functions should not be used. There is a new viewMode "Export" (7) which can be used to determine if the visual is being exported?
It still doesn't work. Any ideas?
Kind regards,
Alex

I can confirm that users of my visuals are reporting that this is resolved with a restart to Desktop (if currently open). It has resolved for me as well.

Hi @Alex_Koch,
It's not happening for me, and I can still export as normal, but I'm having some users report this. I've contacted the support team, but I'd recommend you report this as well - pbicvsupport@microsoft.com.
Regards,
Daniel
