Has power bi enabled a method where we can copy a dataset from one workspace to another? I found a similar question from 4 years ago but was wondering if this has changed in the last 4 years?
My goal is to have a template that I use to publish to new client workspaces and then edit dynamically based on what the client has setup in our systems.
Solved: How to copy existing dashboards, reports, datasets f... - Microsoft Fabric Community
Hi @Clampazzo ,
As far as I know, currently Power BI has a feature Copy reports from other workspaces to copy the report in workspace A to workspace B.
However workspace B only references the dataset in Workspace A, and the dataset is not copied to Workspace B. You can copy the dataset from workspace A to workspace B by following these steps if you have the build permission for the dataset in workspace A:
1. Get the pbix file
Download a report from the Power BI service to Power BI Desktop
2. Save it after updated and publish it to workspace B
And if you need to duplicate all of the content in workspace A to another workspace, please check if the following blog can help you figure out.

Thanks the reply. I was looking to do this with code so I could automate building a large number of datasets automatically. It looks like the copy won't work so I'm now working on a different route.
