Column Filter expansion not showing Values getting seen upfront / Strange Issue

I have a column named Salesforce Created Date with Datatype as 'Date'.

The column values when sorted descendingly shows latest dates having data for 2024, but the when the column filter is expanded it do not show any value for 2024 dates, the latest date I see in expanded filters is for 2023, its something very unique i faced till now in my career !!
Any suggestions or workaround is appreciated?

Note:
1) I have made sure all other filters on any other columns in the table are removed, also tried changing datatype for the required column.
2) There is just one difference i see in column values is that the 2024 values are a bit compact in writing compared to others even at instances where month name is nearly equal in length, i have attached snippets for all scenarios.

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

It worked well once I changed the format of date to short date, still unsure why was it happening, and whether changing the format resolved this issue or just frequent closing & opening of the file all along i was working with that file.
Thanks.

Hi @lovebinds7 ,

Based on your description, it seems that your date column is not displaying correctly in the set order, even though you have set the column's data type to date. I can't reproduce your problem when using the version ( 2.131.1126.0 64-bit (July 2024)) and Version( 2.131.1203.0 64-bit (July 2024) )of Power BI Desktop...

Version: 2.131.1203.0 64-bit (July 2024)Version: 2.131.1203.0 64-bit (July 2024)

Could you please try the following and see if it displays correctly later?

  • Refresh the report
  • Update the version of your Power BI Desktop to the latest one: Get Power BI Desktop - Power BI
  • If this field is a calculated column, please try to delete it and recreate it
