Can you pass filters in the embed URL when you use Directquery to build a report(Power BI Embedded)?

I was trying pass a filter programmatically to a report in a Power BI Embedded Workspace in Azure according to the link given below:

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/documentation/articles/power-bi-embedded-iframe/

the filters were working when I used Import mode to connect to the datasurce, but when I use Direct Query, it is not working. Is there a solution to this?
