Hi @greathats00,

What version of power bi desktop are you worked? Can you please share some more detail information about this issue? They should help us clarify your scenario and test to troubleshoot.

How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly  

In addition, if the connector directly returns 'not support' message it may means this channel may not work for the data driver that visual studio used.  Perhaps you can try to use SSMS to connect data source and use visual studio to manage the instance.
