Greetings, all. We are working on a PBI Embedded solution and are looking to leverage Fabric DirectLake models for reports. We are planning to use PBI Embedded's Dynamic Dataset Binding feature to connect reports to different semantic models dynamically. However, before we embark on building all of this out, I thought I should see if anyone else has tried this. Didn't know if the "live" nature of DirectLake-connected models would cause issues.
Anyone using dataset binding with DirectLake semantic models?
Hi @arpost ,
According to below offical blog,
For reference:

If you want to try to use dynamic dataset binding for PBI Embedded, you can try it for organization (user owns data).

Thanks for the reply, @Anonymous. Do we know if this is something that is in the works to be supported in the near-future? The absence of this severly limits the ability to leverage Fabric in a Fabric-friendly way with PBI Embedded for customer users.
Hi @arpost ,
Your demand is a good idea, while it is not supported to implement in Power BI currently.
You can vote up this idea for this function: Microsoft Idea
Or you can submit a new idea to improve the Power BI.
It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
