Basic power bi newbie question
Hi everyone,
I have started learning Power BI two days ago and I can not understand one thing. Lets assume that there is a company, project department does have a few people who have separate excel files but with the same structure, they just fill their own projects info. Is it possible for them to "merge" these files into one dataset? Because at the moment it saves different files to different datasets.
Thanks for the help!
You can merge these Excel files in Power BI but you want to be careful to keep the file name column too. Otherwise you potentially won't know where the merged rows come from (unless you have a column in your data that can do that)
Use the "Folder" connector or the "Sharepoint Folder" connector for this (the latter is the preferred option)
Also beware that what you are asking for is to merge them into one Query (not just one Dataset).
