Auto Refresh Powerbi data in Powerpoint
I didn't start this thread, but one scenario I personally would like to have some kind of auto refresh setting is if the presentation is looping on a big info screen in the office, or similar. It would be great to be able to make it update every few hours or so by itself.
I am still having problems with the slideshow on loop, which does not autorefresh. But as it does refresh on opening I have decided to use a separate macro program to close the slideshow and reload the data then start the slideshow again. I think this is the only option we have now.
Just one other point, dates on the slideshow are coming out in US format as a standard, when I want it to display in UK format, any suggestions on this?

Thanks for this! I also assumed a separate macro would be the only method of prompting the embedded BI report to auto refresh.
Do you mind sharing what macro program you used to accomplish this?

It is not macro based, but you should use Power BI add-in for PowerPoint.
Once you configured your report, you can also turn on auto-refresh in slideshow.
you can learn more about the add-in here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/storytellingga/
and read more about auto refresh in slideshow: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/supporting-continuous-slide-shows-in-power-bi-storytelling-add-in/

Now it is possible to autorefresh the data. It is still crashing some time but it is an improvement.
