Advice for first custom visual. Line and Stacked Column Chart with grid.
I'm keen to replicate an existing visual that we use for some executive reporting.
Esspentially it is the inbuilt "Line and Stacked Column Chart" that is available out of the box, but I'd like to include a grid with the numbers underneath the chart for easy reading. The main reason I would like the grid to be part of the visual is so that the numbers line up.
The typical use for this visual will be to display measures for 13 weekly periods and I'd like to use 4 of these visuals per report page (divided in quarters).
Using a Matrix/Table just cause too many alignment issues.
Am I right that I should be able to start a new Visual Studio Project and take the exiting chart and look to extend that?

I think this can be described as replicating the Excel StackedBar/Line combo with the Data Table element enabled.
But ideally linked through to a live datasource. Such as an MDX cube
