I got the same problem, I created a semantic model, then went back to the data lake and adjusted a table, now it fails when I try edit the tables. I did completely remove the table and then try add it again - still fails.

We couldn't add or remove tables

{"error":{"code":"LoadModelFailed","pbi.error":{"code":"LoadModelFailed","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"ModelingServiceError_Message","detail":{"type":1,"value":"Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'We cannot access the source column '<oii>Source.Name</oii>' of delta table '<oii>store_dim_calendar</oii>' referenced by table '<oii>store_dim_calendar</oii>'. Either the source column does not exist, or you don't have access permissions. Consider removing the column reference from the table in the model. Please refer to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2248855 for more information.\r\n'."}}]}}}

Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details.

I'm very interested in what the resolution is for this.  Have you tried creating a brand new semantic model and adding the tables?  I'm curious if a semantic model can become corrupt or if there is something on the lakehouse or warehouse side that is causing this.

Hello @jbauer22 Yes i create a new semantic model with all my tables and that is work great.

I found an article last evening which talk about a possible problem of SSO.

I gonna let you know if i found the solution.

If you find first let me know.

I got the same error today when we rebuilt a table.  We are using direct lake mode.  I unchecked the box for the table that was changed in the Edit Tables and clicked confirm.  I then went back to Edit Tables added the dimension table back by checking the box and clicking confirm and it came back.  I suspect the error was related to the fact that we rename our dimensions in the semantic model and when a table is rebuilt in the lakehouse it looses the connection.  I hope this helps resolve your issue.

This worked for me. I made updates to the underlying delta table, and could not refresh the model - until I unchecked that table in Edit tables for the semantic model. I could then re-add the table and  refresh the model. I did not check if it was sufficient to remove the relationship on that table.

Hello @jbauer22

Thank you for your help.
The fact is that when a try to add another table i have also this error.
For make a test i try to uncheck a table and same error. Even if i try to uncheck a table or several tables or all of the tables i have this error. I made a ticket to the microsoft support.

I do not know why and how can i fixed this
