write access in powerbi services

Hi Team,

 

Need to understand what this "Write" access will do in PowerBI services.  Will it give user access to write to DB?

    Hi LP280388 ,

     

    The write permission is to do this:

     

    1.Allows user to republish the dataset.

    2.Allows user to backup and restore the dataset.

    3.Allows user to make changes to the dataset via XMLA.

    4.Allows user to edit dataset settings, except data refresh, credentials, and automatic aggregations.

      Is it possible to share a screen shot how the users will be able to republish the dataset

        it is basically republishing from power bi desktop. Hope that helps
