Helper Vwhat gateway we need in direct query method
Hai professionals, do i need a gate way in my direct query method.
i have sql server and i am retrieving the data from SQL Server to my PBI Desktop by direct query method, do i need gateways to refresh the data, or no need???
If i need means, which type of gateways i need in direct query method???

sudhav if your SQL server is on-prem, yes you need gateway and it is recommended to have enterprise gateway and installed on the machine which is up and running 24 x 7 and also that machine has access to SQL server.
