This happens because of the current 150,000-row export limit when using Data with current layout in Microsoft Power BI. The export still completes even when the data exceeds this limit, and since the warning only appears at the bottom of the Excel file, users can easily miss it and assume they have the full dataset. To reduce this risk, customers should use Paginated Reports built with Power BI Report Builder for large, detailed exports, as these are meant to handle higher data volumes without the same restriction. It also helps to add a clear warning inside the report itself, such as a DAX-based row count alert, so users know in advance when an export may be incomplete and can choose the correct full-data option. In the long term, a built-in pre-export warning and a more visible message in the exported file would greatly improve clarity and prevent users from unknowingly working with partial data.
