Did you choose list or Online List?
The SharePoint list is for the on premesis version.

If you want to check what login credentials you used go to Tansform data | Data source settings and then either sources in the current file or under global. It can remember your settings from the last time you connected.

Finally check you aren't editing an uncomitted row in the browser. Weird things can happen if you edit a row in SharePoint lists and try to connect to it from the same account.
