In Power BI Desktop, Report view when making font size changes to a table visual sometimes the values do not change straight away.
A lot of the time one adds a table visual to a report. The default font size is 10 for column headers and values. Invariably one changes to the lowest font (size 😎 to cram more data to 'visualise' and reduce scrolling.
This looks like a bug which I have posted
power bi desktop. table visual. font size not always changing for column headers or values
Solved! Go to Solution.
I tested this on my machine and could not reproduce the issue.
When you set the Global font size, it applies consistently to all table elements – column headers, values, and totals.
If you need different sizes for each element, you can define them separately (Headers, Values, Totals). This works fine, as shown in my screenshot where each element has its own size.
It may be that what you experienced is a rendering delay in Power BI Desktop. Sometimes the font change does not display immediately but refreshes correctly after a moment or after re-opening the report.

In Power BI Desktop, sometimes when changing the font size for a table visual, the column headers or values don’t update immediately. This happens because font size settings for headers and values are controlled separately under the Format pane in different sections (“Column headers” vs “Values”). You need to change the font size individually for both.
Also, the visual might need a moment or a refresh to reflect changes, especially when reducing font size very low to fit more data in the table. Responsive settings or manual overrides can affect this behavior as well.
If changes seem stuck, try deselecting and reselecting the visual or restarting Power BI Desktop to refresh the render.

thanks for that solution it great and working for my question also.
Happy to help 🙂
Power BI sometimes resists font size changes in table visuals, especially for headers and values separately. To fix it fast: set font sizes for both headers and values individually, toggle the font type to nudge the update, and try switching visuals or reopening the report. For a smoother ride, use a custom theme to lock in your preferred fonts once and for all. Easy wins to keep your tables tight and tidy.
