store locally
Just started using Power BI as a trial to see if it fits what we need. So far it seems to. I have a test report started and went to publish it and noticed that the workspace was in the cloud and not locally. Is there anyway to store the datasets and reports locally liked on a shared

mjklare you can share pbix file like other Excel and Word files but it is a larger discussion of what you are trying to achieve. Publishing in the cloud (Power BI Service) is a solution to share reports with others where they can only view given permission, schedule refresh of data etc, and many more. The answer to your question is not simple until your requirement is clear. There is another product under Power BI called Power BI Report Server which stays on-prem and has similar functionality to Power BI service but you have to read the limitations about this product.

Yes, there's POwer BI Report Server where you can store your reports locally (on-premises).
