Hi,
Looking at possibilities of developing a reusable semantic model/layer for power bi reports such that we don't need to repeat relationship mapping in several reports.
Looks like datasets could be a candidate for this. Large data warehouse with star schema and various aggregated layers.
Have seen some posts of people talking about ssas and wondering as to thoughts of anything which ssas would offer which datasets wouldn't.
Can see SSAS has perspectives which looks like would allow different views in terms of visible objects to be presented to diffrent users. Not sure if power bi has plans to have this functionality in future?
Looks like if did SSAS woudl be tabular rather than multi-dimensional.
Not familiar with ssas but have developed enterprise semantic layer solutions in other products and looking for thoughts on what others have done with regards semantic reusable data modesl in power bi.
Wondering laso if ultimately power bi will replace SSAS in longer term and best to work with datasets?
Thanks

Thanks for update.
Do you know if power bi has any plans to introduce data perspectives functionality i.e. similar to row level security but object level security such that ceratin users can see certain objects e.g giving permission to only certain users to see certain objects in a dat amodel.
