slicer visual is producing ambiguous behavior

im using the slicer visual to filter by date however i noticed that when i want to filter by current date (today's date), the date is disabled and i can't click on it . when i try to navigate inside the filter to previous/next month and then click back to the current month , the current date is enabled . end users are facing same issue as well . i tried to remove the visual,then adding it again to the page but it's producing same bahaviour. 

note that there are no other visuals filtering the page so no filters will affect  on the behavior of the slicer and there is existing data in today's date and it's not blank

after i go to prev or next month 

then go back to current month, the current date is enabled
