Hi guys,
got stuck in slicers part. basically i have two slicers. one slicer will have two options(country and product) and second slicer will display options for selection in first slicer. but when i select country in first slicer, now my second slicer will show different countries, and now if i select any option in second slicer (ex-canada) and navigate to product in first slicer, second slicer is giving product options along with previous selected country(canada). Please help me to resolve this.
Hope for a sooner solution.
Regards,
vamshi
@Anonymous How does the data model behind those slicers look like?
as of now i dont have any data relationships. Also, data model relationship is not need for these slicers i think
@Anonymous How is the interaction handled then? What's the logic?
And as @Mariusz suggested - why should you overcomplicate things by combining two separate logical units into one slicer?
logic behind is like i just unpivoted the country and product columns and dragged the unpivoted columns(attributes and values) in slicers
@Anonymous So does it mean that the slicer that currently holds "Country" and "Product" only controls visibility of other slicers?
And reconstructing Qlik isn't always the good idea.
yes jirkaZ. Any possibility to achieve requirment. i need to migrate as it is companys requirment. if possible can you provide your contact details for quick assistance.
@Anonymous You can't do it with checkboxes. There are some workarounds but there's no official option how to control visibility of slicers.
One option is described here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Hiding-Slicer/td-p/297928
Second option is to build a slicer panel which is a very sleek solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy9nmSQeUWg
in the above link mentioned, there will be a space constraint .
@Anonymous As I said - no built-in function to control the slicer visibility depending on other slicer's selection. Create a slicer panel then - doesn't take much space.
because as iam working on migration project from qlik view to power bi, i need to replicate the same. iam attaching the screenshot here
