share dataset

Hi,

I have created simple report with dataset and published on our team workspace and made all our members Admin to the Workspace. when one of team member access to the Dataset from Desktop, Data option is gone and transform data is disabled.

How to access published Dataset by other team members, if they want to make changes to the Dataset should be possible.

thanks,

Viji

Hi , @Anonymous

Q1:when one of team member access to the Dataset from Desktop, Data option is gone and transform data is disabled.

This is normal because linking our dataset on Desktop is linked in Live Connection mode.Below this pattern there are no data options and no Power Query.

For more information, you can refer to :

Connect to datasets in the Power BI service from Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Q2:How to access published Dataset by other team members, if they want to make changes to the Dataset should be possible.

If you want to update the dataset in Power BI Service , you can give them at least the Contributr to them . Then they can click the "Download this file" to get the .pbix file . Then update the .pbix file and post it again to the Power BI Service.

Conntion to the dataset in Power Bi Desktop is often used to post the report to Power Bi Service instead of updating the dataset.

For how to download the .pbix file , you can refer to :

Download a report from the Power BI service to Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
