shape map with lat/long points together

EDIT - just found out hat adding lat/long points is not supported (yet?) with this.

I have a dataset with latitude and longitude and other data points per record.  I created and uploaded custom shape map which I want to use as reference layer to show my districts.

Now, can I just plot lat/long points onto this custom shape map? 

Can't seem to find the answer.  Thanks.
