screenshot of data while connected to a database

Hello everybody,

I am quite new to BI and my question might seem stupid. I want to build a report that can be refreshed monthly. The data comes from a cube in a datawarehouse (via Analysis Services). I want to make sure that I can save a screenshot at the end of each month. That screenshot must provide me also with the insight in the data itself and not only the visualization. Taking into account that I am connected to the cube, how can I save that screenshot at the end of the month ? If by accident I hit the refresh button, then I lose it. Can I maybe block the refresh at the end of the month? Or is any other way to do it?

Thank you.

Hi @AndreeaInex

Actually, Power BI does not support monthly refresh currenly, it only supports refresh Daily and Weekly in Power BI Service. However, you could refresh it monthly manually.

You could vote this idea here which has been submitted in Power BI ideas forum and add your comments there to improve Power BI and make this feature coming sooner.

In addition, It may impossible for us to achieve, Power BI is a tool to do data analysis which needs the latest data. So, if you need the data last month you could use date slicer to filter the data last month or last day.

If you do need the option to achieve your requirement, you also could post your new idea in Power BI idea Forum and add your comments.

Best Regards,

Cherry
