sand dance

Hi all,

I am currently facing an issue with the column graph in sand dance,
on the y axis there is a sum function and i was just wondering how the values are calculated for non-numeric values.

e.g SUM: NAME

    Hi new2powerbi1,

     

    For sanddance custom visual,  you can Sum by any column in the dataset. Per my understanding, when we select a numeric field, it sum up values grouped by multiple dimensions. But when selecting a Text field, it just group and classify values based on dimensions without doing mathematical calculation, having nothing to do with the "Sum" label.
