I am trying to create a Map in Power bi where i am able to show sales data for all the states on the visual. I have tried the suggested work arounds and they have not worked. The work arounds do not always place the details in the correct state i.e data for New Mexico is showin up in Georgia.
Thank you,
James_Bouy
I am also facing similar kind of problem , to display data on maps, Please let me know if there is any solution available.
Hi @james_bouy ,
You could set the data catagory as "place".
Here is my test result.
Thank you for the response. I actually was able to do your test, but what I was trying to acomplish was to display the value (555 in your example) on the actual map for all data points. I am trying to create a slide to show the data points by state.
Thank you again,
James
Hi @james_bouy ,
There isn't a direct way.
You could refer to this case which is similar to yours.

this work around does not work for me. Power Bi looks likes it takes the values as zip codes which means tha New Mexico shows up in Georgia. Why can't Microsoft just add in a "label" that can be assoicated to a specific location? This was a major miss in Excel's Power map addin also.
Thank you,
James
