relative date filtering in slicer using date table doesnt show any data for last 1 day

I have a date field from my date table that I put into a slicer. I'm trying to do relative date filtering in the slicer, and it appears to be working fine, except when i select last 1 day, it shows no data. I have tried including and excluding today and it is still not showing any data for last 1 day. I have to use the date field from my date table, because of some relationships I have set up. Is the relative date slicer meant to work with date table fields?
