relationship issue - can't estalish one-to-many relationship

Hello,

I am having an issue with a relationship. I changed the code in my query (Powerquery), I did keep all field names the same but I pushed a lot of code into an SQL statement to the Oracle database to make it run faster. This caused all of my relationships to that table to be deleted, so I am reconnecting same as what it was before.

Now, one of the relationships is giving me a hard time. I had a One to Many Relationship , and PowerBI is refusing it now in favour of a many-to-many relationship:

I did test all I could think of on the table on what is supposed to be the one side of the relationship (ASE_ACTIVITY):

As you can see, there are no duplicates and no blanks.

Do you have an idea why PowerBI is refusing the one to many cardinality? What should I further be testing?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Kind regards

Valeria

@ValeriaBreve , Check if one side of the table has any duplicate or blank value.

To set that. Delete the join.

Then plot a visual with ID of Table(On one side) and the count of ID

Sort on ID and check there should not be any blank values. Sort on value and check there should not be any count greater than one

@amitchandak Hello Amit! It was so nice to talk to you at the PowerBI Summit 🙂

So, I did as you instructed, removed all relationships from that the table on the 1 side, and everything is unique:

(this is the top of the table and the count is sorted descending)

By the way both fields being related have the same type (text).

I really am scratching my head on this one!

Thanks

Kind regards

Valeria
