"Invoke Attempt Failed"

I can't even find any google search results for that phrase.  It doesn't exist.

I was putzing on and off for about a week on a MSPBI Dashboard that I left open.  I don't remember everything I did because it was such a long amount of putzing.  But suddenly this morning I started getting an error seen here:

Temp 1.jpg

I don't think I have any custom functions that are getting invoked, and here is a picture of my query list.  The last one is cut off but it is the last one:

Temp 2.jpg

The two parameters are simple dates

Lastly, the error details from the first picture are HUGE, and exceeds the character limit so a portion is below and I put the rest on google drive (Not sure if the link will be valid).  Any idea what's going on?

So this is a very unfortunate reply for me to write:  It turns out (?) that the MSPBI file basically got corrupted while I was working on it for 7 days.  Later in the day I tried to save it, and I kept getting an error saying it was unable to save it.  So I copied all of the code behind my queries into different notepad files, closed the file, rebooted, opened it again, and copied all of my queries from Notepad back into it.

The error is gone.

So maybe the reason why I couldn't find information on "Invoke Attempt Failed" was because it's a nonsense error fixed by discarding all your work and going back to the last successful save 😞

I do appreciate everybody's thoughts/input on this, I'm sorry this wasn't more interesting (?)

You could narrow it down by disabling load on each query (or in groups to check faster) to see when it goes away.  Then you could troubleshoot and maybe rebuild that query.  Make sure you don't have any measures or DAX columns on any tables you disable load on so you don't lose them.

Regards,

Pat

Have you tried pushing past that error (basically ignoring it)? Is it reproducible? When does it appear?

Hey lbendlin; I knew I forgot some other information.

So from what I can tell I can push past it and ignore it entirely.  It doesn't appear to mean anything.  But I would really prefer to be able to do something about it to stop it from appearing since I'm going to be sharing this dashboard with a large quantity of people outside of my department and I don't want them getting confused.

It is reproduceable:  I've seen it about 10-15 times today.  When it pops up, it prevents me from clicking on/using any other part of Power BI until I close that error window.  Which I find interesting, but maybe that's normal error message behavior (I haven't gotten lots of errors in the past, haha)

When does it appear?  I'm not sure.  It appears to be something background related.  Because if will usually appear if I click 'Refresh All' but sometimes I'll just be in the query editor, and I'll step away for 20 minutes, come back, and the error has popped-under the Query Editor.

Did you enable automatic page refresh anywhere?
