"Enter your email address" prompts

We deploy Power BI in a secure environment where no sign in is allowed to a vendor account.

2.117 and before worked as expected with an occasional prompt that the user could just close. Sometime after that 2.128 and in user testing they were getting prompted to sign in. When they closed that window or chose "OK" they were then told they did not have a vendor account.

Our users will not be allowed to have an online account so any suggestions ?

The issue you’re experiencing with Power BI Desktop prompting for sign-in and requiring a vendor account is a known problem that has affected many users since version 2.117

If possible, use Power BI Desktop version 2.117 or earlier, which worked as expected in your secure environment

staying on 2.117 is not a solution. Our client is asking for the latest upgrade and we cannot deliver due to these issues that Microsoft has created
