query missing from PowerBI report I am testing

I opened a project and a query is somehow missing and it wants to apply changes due to the missing query.

I can't even view what they query looked like, but the fields from that query still exist in the data view.

How do you recover from this error? I seem to be stuck with re-writing the query and setting up things again

    Hi kcwilsonii,

Please open Query Editor in desktop, check if the query is missing or broken. If the query is not here, I think you are not able to find the query back. But you can check the Recent Sources then connect to it.

The source is not the problem. The query for a table is just gone. I can't even add another query to replicate the first one .

I even looked at the files for PBIX and could not find any trace of the original query. Somewher in the metadata it still thinks the query exists but it's not there.

It will nor let me remove it or replace it. I always get an error now. I have to start over
