prevent data summation

I have 20+ columns of data that are always summed when I import into PowerBI and I must select "don't summarize" for each column every time I bring in new data. Is there a way to stop PowerBI from summing all numeric columns. Thank you

Hi @adouds ,

Power BI automatically summarizes the fields when its numeric in nature. If there were few fields, you can manually change it to don't summarize but I can understand it would be a painful task to change for 30+ numeric fields.
The solved link shared by @kushanNa  demonstrates how you can manage for multiple fields and you can try that approach. Another approach would be to -
1.Go to model view--> ctrl+shift or ctrl+click to select the columns

Once you’ve selected the group of columns you want to change find the advanced drop down in the properties window and change the “Summarize by” option to “None”.

Hi @adouds

it seems like it is not possible to change the summarize by default

seems like the workaround is to create an index column and hide it
