powerbi standard map scaling bubbles issue
Am having a hard time finding a way to scale my bubbles the issue is that when bubble is on auto it is not aggresive enougth as all points look similar and if bubbles is set to data range then its too aggresive. As well as this when there is no diffrence e.g i pick a market the bubbles are so small you cant even see them. I have 4 filters market, technology ,metric and period. the defult is all for markets i get the following chart. if you look at the very tiny dot light green it has a value of 22 whilst the still very small but visible light green is 23
now when i filter to a particular coutry lets say belgium the purple dot which is a good size now becomes so tiny and areis barley visible because they all have the same value and therfore it useses the smallest possible dot.
my bubble size in the actual visual is just the value avg in my chart
i tried mangtitude and auto insted of data range but that looks like theres no change in the actual bubble
which also is not very good. below is with auto. this also is not good as blue is around 56
and light green is 23 but that is not reflected in the bubble size
anyone have any solutions to this? i can only use standard map as well as this in my bubble map settings i
have the following only
manually adjusting the size also is not very good
so run out of ideas and options?
muhammad_pathan That looks like the original Map visual which is going away soon. I would switch to the Azure Map visual and see if that can solve your issue.

Hi muhammad_pathan ,

As mentioned by the Super User, the behavior you’re observing occurs with the standard Map visual, which is being deprecated soon. I tried reproducing a similar scenario using the Azure Maps visual, and it provides much better control over bubble scaling.
In Azure Maps, you can adjust bubble visibility under
Format → Layers → Bubble layer → Size scaling
to fine-tune the minimum and maximum bubble sizes.
Below is a quick test I performed using sample data as shown, even when filtering to a single country, the bubbles remain properly scaled and visible.
Please go through the pbix file.If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.
