Helper Ipowerbi refresh + oracle views = refresh doesn't work. shows old data
Hi all
is there a known issue with powerbi + oracle views when refreshing data?
My powerbi model points at a number of oracle views.
there was a data issue in one of the underlying oracle tables that was causing one of the views to throw an error
I fixed it in the oracle table, tried the view in oracle, it worked fine showed the new data
but powerbi kept throwing the error when trying to force a refresh (Import, not direct query)
Same thing in the powerquery preview
A strange thing is i had a direct query pointing at another view over the same table that didn't do any type conversions so it just passed in the value as is - this kept showing the old value too! Even after multiple refreshes and closing/reopening the powerbi file
The only thing that fixed it was forcing oracle to recompile the views
Is there a 'dont cache' setting in powerbi somewhere to force a refresh to actually refresh?

Hi jakubk ,
If you publish your pbix file to Power BI Service, to refresh the on premise data source Oracle database, it needs to use the gateway, and then you can configure schedule refresh. See more : On-premises data gateway , Add a data source , Configure scheduled refresh .
