Hi guys,
I need your help.
I am trying to create an ad-hoc data refresh in my dashboards for all my team members.
So my tools are :
Power Bi Desktop
Power Automate
My Company :
Power Bi premium capacity
What i want to do :
i generated and published my dashboards in a specific workspace available only for my team members.
We use sensitive information so we decided to update our dashboards ( connected with an sql server) manually.
We did that because we didnt want to give access in our DB to anyone, including the IT .
As a result, the main (powerbi) scheduler of IT is not working for our DB / Dashboards.
We purchased a power automate license, i created a local gateway, i generated resfresh data api buttons in all my reports / dashboards, i gave access to my team but the data refresh is not working properly.
Please keep in mind that the other team members (except me) dont have access to the sql DB but they have access on the specific dataset and reports in power BI.
Any idea what i am doing wrong?
When i update the data, the team member with just a refresh on the power bi ( online) page is available to see the changes
when they press the button on their own (although the triggering is succesfully) no refresh!!!
if you need any additional printscreen, please tell to upload it
@Anonymous If you created your own local gateway then you should be able to configure automatic scheduled refresh without giving IT or anyone else access to anything.
Hi @Greg_Deckler . I created my own local gateway and i also created scheduled data refresh. Could you please tell me how i could schedule a page(dashboard) refresh to keep the visualization updated for my team members?
yes i know that but i am trying to find a better solution and a better use of power automate. If i will schedule a data refresh i should have my pc on. is this a requirement for a solution with robotics (refresh button)?
