.pbix file published automatically

Hi All

For some reason, when I publish a report from Power BI Desktop to the Workspace, I got three items published:

  • Power BI Report
  • Power BI Dataset
  • Power BI Dashboard (.pbix)

Does anyone know how can I change the behavior and not to publish dashboard (.pbix) automatically? Normally there should be always only two items published (report and dataset).

thank you!

Hello amitchandak It doesn't answer my question. The PBIX is in import mode, not DQ. And still, when publishing to the Workspace it automatically gets three files published (report, dataset, dashboard).

  • The mystery has been solved. It came up that the report has been published to workspace through "Upload" option in the Workspace. When you do it, there are these three items populated. Thanks everyone for help.

  • DataGuest Hello,
Can you create a dev workspace for testing . I am pretty confident that you will get only two file 1 report and 2nd dataset.

    or

You can change the file name and publish. In this, case I am also sure that you will two file only for the same.

    Thanks

  • DataGuest , if it import/direct query mode file. two things created at service from you desktop Pbix file

    • Power BI Report
    • Power BI Dataset

For Live you will only get

    • Power BI Report

I doubt you can change that

    Hi DataGuest ,

Can you please provide a screenshot?

It is my first time to know that pbix file itself is published together with the report and dataset

        Hi DataGuest

        That is a dashboard.

It is not being uploaded. It was creatd online.

        To test,

If the dashboard is not needed, try to delete it and then re-publish your file. it will not exist I believe
