only thin bars in bar chart with legend

Hi all,

i need help with my bar chart.

I have created a bar chart which shows the value for my items.

If I only use the axis the visual shows the bars in the right size. If I also use a legend the visual only shows thin bars.

Is there a way to increase the size of the bars?

Thanks for your help.

Hi @Sebastian,

The question related with this is that you have several categories for each x-axis value so he is making the spaces between the x-axis with size to acommodate all the categories, what I can see from your visual you have one categorie per x-axis value I would change my chart to a stacked column chart.

Hi,

Please Ensure the "Type" is set to "Categorical". This will prevent Power BI from trying to evenly distribute space across a continuous range. from the "Format" pane, expand the "X-Axis" settings

The problem with using a Stacked Column Chart though is that you lose the option to have Data Labels positioned "Outside End". With a Stacked column chart, the value labels can ONLY be "Inside" the bars.

Is there a way to have both fat bars AND Outside End positions data labels?

Hi @feelie75 ,

Have you tried turnin on the Total Labels?

Oh hey MFelix, that's a great solution to the missing Outside End Data Labels issue, thanks for pointing that out.
