Hello,
I'm playing with the on-premise gateway and somehow I stumbled upon this page:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/service-gateway-install
where it says:
> The on-premises data gateway (standard mode) has to be installed on a domain joined machine having a trust relationship with the target domain.
however I do not have any domain joined machine since we only use azuread, however I could connect just fine to a postgresql machine, is there any reason why there is a restriction like that?
Most likely the restriction is because of the option to connect to data sources with Windows authentication. That will only work inside the domain tree.
Sounds like you should be using a VNet gateway anyway.
