not able to get data in Power Bi from XLSX and XLSM

Hi,

• Able to get data from one XLSM file in power Bi
• Not able to get data  from other XLSM or XLSX file
• Getting popup stating "Error" with no number or details

Please share one of the files that is causing this error.

Can you confirm that those files are ok?  You can open them in Excel?

The files that are causing these issues - were they created in Excel or have they been created by some other program - for example a 3rd party program dumping data in Excel format?

If you start a new PBI Desktop file and then a new query - you always get this error?

Is your PBI Desktop up to date?

Hi @PhilipTreacy 

Actually that data is private and I am managing that excel from long. I use that sheet daily for analysis via pivot and charts. 

I never get this error. As in screenshot you can see I already attached one such file which is Attrition data and I am trying to connect another file which has Head Count of projet but it gives error. 

My organization have subscription for Microsft and Power Bi is free with that.

Need more information I'm afraid.  The error message just states Error?  Is this in Power Query? In the main PBI Desktop window?  Can you share a screenshot?

How are you getting data from these files?  Please share your query/queries.

Please share your PBIX file.

I am new to Power BI and trying to get data and get error mentioned in above screenshot.

I get this error as soon as I try following below steps-

1. Click on get data tab under Home ribbon or click excel
2. Select XLSX or XLSM file
3. receive error
