i down loaded partial data from my SAP BW cube and as Power BI desktop could not distinguish my measures and dimensions, i clicked on edit query to change data type. I got the folloiwng error:
DataSource.Error: SAP Business Warehouse: SYSTEM_FAILURE No more storage space available for extending an internal table.
Details:
    DataSourceKind=SapBusinessWarehouse
    DataSourcePath=leapbwlbp/00/350
    ErrorCode=-2147467259
When the data is already downloaded, why i get this error?
DOES EDIT QUERY NEEDS MORE SPACE THAN THE DATA ITSELF?
Hi @SatyaVaitla,
Based on my research about the error "SAP Business Warehouse: SYSTEM_FAILURE No more storage space available for extending an internal table.", the issue is from SAP related to the internal tables used. I have found some threads about this error, you can take a look:
No more storage space available for extending an internal table
In your scenario, I would suggest you ask SAP System Admin to analyze the issue on SAP side.
In addition, after importing data to Power BI Desktop, we are able to create a measure without opening Query Editor. Please refer to this article: Tutorial: Create your own measures in Power BI Desktop.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
@SatyaVaitla Guessing from the error to troubleshoot, can you load a little less data than what you're doing now and use edit query ?
yes. with less data it was working fine.
I allotted abot 15GB in the File>options>dataload
i am using windows and MAC
With SAP the data is always big. Even in present case i loaded only small portion of my cube (by selecting only very few measures and dimensions).
My data is available in data window and also in report window ( i can not create any report because all my measures are treated as text by power bi desktop!). So i need query editor
