Hi @kevin179 ,

MySQL does not support the 'direct query' connection mode. In my opinion, I'd like to suggest you try to write a custom connector with odbc and enabled the 'direct query' option on it. You can also vote  Direct query with mysql Databases to help make it happen as soon as possible.

For detail operations steps, you can refer to the following links to know the more about them:

Power BI data sources - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Enabling DirectQuery for an ODBC-based Power Query connector - Power Query | Microsoft Learn

GitHub - microsoft/DataConnectors: Data Connector SDK and samples for Power Query and Power BI

Connect to MySQL from Windows with ODBC - iNTERFACEWARE Help Center

If it does not help, please provide more details .

You can only change from Direct Query to Import Mode. You cannot change back from Import Mode to Direct Query.

(at least not in the UI. Inofficially you can patch the .pbix but that is entirely unsupported)

why when I create the model default option is Import Mode,  so  how can I select to Direct Query option when I create model?

That depends on your data source. Which one(s) are you using?

mysql in local or excel file

Excel will always be import mode. For MySQL you can choose.

I install version to 版本: 2.117.984.0 64-bit (2023年5月)  , from UI the Direct Query option is show。  mysql can not use Direct Query,  but can connect to a MySQL database with direct query mode using this connector MariaDB Direct Query Adapter
