      I'm going to post more specifically the problems :

      I can't recognize the areas correctly in  Italy.
      I can send the database to you to understand where the error is.

      Thank you in advance for your support

      Problem 1:

      When I create the map divided into provincie I have 4 errors:

      -The province of Alexandria (in northern Italy) identifies Alexandria in Egypt;
      -The province of Latina (in the center of Italy) is not represented.
      -The province of Naples (in southern Italy) identifies it in Ecuador;
      -The province of Messina (in southern Italy) is not represented.

      Problem 2:

      When I create the map by region, the Umbria region does not appear in Central Italy

      Problem 3:

      I do not know how to divide the regions into north centre and south italy

      Thanks

      Gianluca A.

    I’ve got response from the Product Team.

    We suggest to use DataCategory and geo-hierarchies in Power BI with following details.

    1. Customer should use a geo-hierarchy to help with geocoding, introducing at least a Country column. Then drill down from Country to Province using the "fork" drill icon (expand all down in the hierarchy) to preserve the full hierarchy.

    2. Customer should also use the Data Cateogry. Click the modeling icon at left, select the column (e.g. Province), and using the Data Category drop-down choose "State or Province". Same with country column, but choose "Country / Region".

    The coming June 2017 version of PBI Desktop has support for using all information in a hierarchy (Desktop MSI available next week), it may also improve the map related visuals.

    There is also Bing issue with the centroid data for some Italy regions, they will need to update their response vectors for certain regions.

    Best Regards,
    Herbert
