Hi all,

Am about to install Power Bi Desktop version in my system and its not successful throwing an error. 

"This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows Installer Service. You must Install a Windows service pack that contains a newer version of the Windows Installer Service"

how to fix the issue. 

please can someone guide me.

Hi divyapalani,

I think that this is due to the version of the Microsoft Installer service (C:\Windows\System32\msiexec.exe). Maybe it's too old and needs an upgrade. You can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8483

Sounds like you need to go out to windows update and update your system.
