indoor-map on PowerBI

Hello,

I am planning to import indoor-map data and manage it on powerBI Desktop, but somehow imcomplete map is displayed.

Is the "map shape" (or other visualization) fully compatible with indoor-map, and how do I import/configure it correctly? (before preparing data with "azure maps creator" , I just want to confirm..)

● step to reproduce (FYI)

- prepare geojson/topojson file to test
- e.g.) https://github.com/ArmanJR/geojson-indoor-tools/blob/main/data/add-polygon-heights/input.geojson
(just info: license might be reserved, use carefully)

- import with "map shape" as "custom map"

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/desktop-shape-map

Then, somehow powerBI reconginzes it, but some layer information, such as point feature, seems to be missing?

It's important to note that while the "Map Shape" visualization in Power BI Desktop can be used for basic indoor maps, it may not provide all the functionality needed for complex indoor mapping scenarios. Depending on your requirements, you may need to explore alternative visualization options or consider using custom visuals or extensions for more advanced indoor mapping capabilities. Additionally, keep an eye on updates and new features in Power BI that may improve support for indoor mapping in the future.

    Hi Anonymous ,

I think Globe Map visual is a good choice. It also supports heatmaps on spatial maps with better visuals. You can try it in PowerBI visuals.

    Globe Map (microsoft.com)

      Thank you for your reply!

I'm also planning to try "Azure Maps Creator", so if anyone has a good way to display the multi-layered Indoor Map well in other visualizations, please let me know.  I've tried Icon Map, but are there any others?

For indoor mapping (not connected to Azure Maps, which makes sense if you don't need the georeferencing), you can also consider Synoptic Panel - the Lite version is free up to 15 data points:
