how to stop opening report in new tab using embedded link

Hi Team,

I have report with embedded link which opens report with main dashboard.From dashboard based on link click on value it will redirects to particular page in another tab.We want to know the solution how to stop opening report in new tab and want to have report open in same page not new tab.

Please help us ASAP

Hi @sribmc 

Your idea is very good. Power BI currently does not support opening links directly in the same TAB. You can vote for this feature in the Power BI Ideas forum.

here we have different tabes in one report which was published in same workspace.Instead of drillthrough we are using links to move to another tab which will do filtering and will same as drill through.

Hello @sribmc,

İf it is published same workspace and you have only one report why don't you use page navigation( I understand that you have all neccesary vizualization on the reports  instead of using button links?

Let me give an example why we are using links instead of button for navigation to another page.

Here we sales kpi which maps with state here state wise sales kpi want to show and navigate to other page when they click on sales state kpi if state value is 25 that filter need to pass to another page and another page need to only state filter 25 sales and also reflects on other visuals .I hope its clear @uzuntasgokberk

Hello @sribmc,

Every url link button clicks, it opens another tab. 

However,  you can use Power BI Apps option if all the report needs to be same workspace which you would like to see.
